Youth Programs

Healthy Habits Start Young

Our children are the gateway to the future and we believe that a child who is active, happy and healthy will certainly shine. Through opportunities and education we hope to help our children today so they may grow and flourish and share experiences for generations to come. At RHW healthy habits are incorporated in all our programs through education and practice. Teaching children how to care for and nourish their bodies will in turn help to instill healthy habits and positive behaviors that will sustain them in their daily lives. The mission of RHW’s children’s programs is to educate, guide and nurture each child, while promoting health, supporting families and creating community.

Our children’s programs are supported by our generous donations and grant funding, enabling us to keep enrollment fees reasonable for local families. There are some instances where even reduced fees cannot be paid for by families, and therefore RHW is pleased to offer scholarships to families to assist in covering the cost of children’s program fees. Our scholarship program is designed to help families of the Rangeley lakes region manage the cost and accessibility of children’s programming. Children In Action (CIA) Program

Children learn best by doing. Our updated CIA programs will provide activities focused on physical activity, engagement with the outdoors, creative arts, and learning about healthy food habits.

Our children’s programs are built from framework that will teach children to develop the tools they need to grow individually and as part a group, promoting independence to learn how to make choices that benefit both physical and emotional health. Our themed activities give children something to look forward to each week, ensuring a component of physical activity, creative expression, and nutrition.

Annual Physicals and Immunizations

At RHW we believe that access to preventative care is the first step to a healthy childhood. RHW will cover up to $100 annually per child from birth to age 18 for their annual physical and required immunizations if they are a patient of Rangeley Family Medicine. Initially funded by the Butler Foundation, this year’s funding is generously provided by individual donations and municipal support.

Youth Development

Community involvement is key to creating a healthy, kids friendly environment. We work closely with the Rangeley Lakes Regional School as members of their wellness committee and we host the health education fitness class at the Wellness Pavilion. Athletic development is offered for all sports: ski training, soccer programs including British Soccer camps, youth circuit, summer camps, swim lessons and more. Dance lessons are available through Lakeside Dance at the Wellness Pavilion.

Rangeley Health & Wellness

RHW is a non profit 501(c)3 whose mission is to facilitate and promote health and wellness in the Rangeley Lakes region. We are generously supported by individual donors, private foundations, grants, municipal funds, special events and a host of dedicated volunteers. We are here for your well-being!
