Healthy Habits Start Young
Our children are the gateway to the future and we believe that a child who is active, happy and healthy will certainly shine. Through opportunities and education we hope to help our children today so they may grow and flourish and share experiences for generations to come. At RHW healthy habits are incorporated in all our programs through education and practice. Teaching children how to care for and nourish their bodies will in turn help to instill healthy habits and positive behaviors that will sustain them in their daily lives. The mission of RHW’s children’s programs is to educate, guide and nurture each child, while promoting health, supporting families and creating community.
Our children’s programs are supported by our generous donations and grant funding, enabling us to keep enrollment fees reasonable for local families. There are some instances where even reduced fees cannot be paid for by families, and therefore RHW is pleased to offer scholarships to families to assist in covering the cost of children’s program fees. Our scholarship program is designed to help families of the Rangeley lakes region manage the cost and accessibility of children’s programming. Children In Action (CIA) Program
Children learn best by doing. Our updated CIA programs will provide activities focused on physical activity, engagement with the outdoors, creative arts, and learning about healthy food habits.
Our children’s programs are built from framework that will teach children to develop the tools they need to grow individually and as part a group, promoting independence to learn how to make choices that benefit both physical and emotional health. Our themed activities give children something to look forward to each week, ensuring a component of physical activity, creative expression, and nutrition.
To register your child for our CIA program, download our CIA After School Registration form, or call the fitness desk at (207)864-4397.
Summer Soccer Camps
Rangeley Health & Wellness’s Challenger Sports Soccer Camp is returning this summer! This intensive Soccer camp takes place on our Athletic Fields for two weeks every summer.
Youth Swimming Lessons
Our youth swim lessons are offered to beginners, as well as intermediate swimmers. Beginner level classes are taught to help swimmers feel comfortable in the water and learn necessary skills for water safety, while intermediate lessons are to help swimmers develop endurance and learn proper stroke technique.
Rangeley Teen Adventure Outings
At Rangeley Health and Wellness Center, our Teen Adventure Outings program aims to teach healthy lifestyle habits to enhance physical and emotional health, all while giving teens an opportunity to interact, learn new skills and have fun! Each month a new outing will be offered to local teens to participate in enriching new activities. Interested in learning more? Annual Physicals and Immunizations
At RHW we believe that access to preventative care is the first step to a healthy childhood. RHW will cover up to $100 annually per child from birth to age 18 for their annual physical and required immunizations if they are a patient of Rangeley Family Medicine. Initially funded by the Butler Foundation, this year’s funding is generously provided by individual donations and municipal support.
Community involvement is key to creating a healthy, kids friendly environment. We work closely with the Rangeley Lakes Regional School as members of their wellness committee and we host the health education fitness class at the Wellness Pavilion. Athletic development is offered for all sports: ski training, soccer programs including British Soccer camps, youth circuit, summer camps, swim lessons and more. Dance lessons are available through Lakeside Dance at the Wellness Pavilion.
